If only the weQube+ logo appears on the display when the weQube is switched on and the device does not start up completely, the cause is often the network configuration. In most cases, DHCP is activated and the sensor waits for a DHCP server to automatically assign it an IP address – which is not provided for in many industrial networks.
DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) is a network protocol that automatically assigns devices an IP address as soon as they connect to a network. This is practical in IT environments, but in industrial networks without a central DHCP server, it can result in devices not receiving an IP address – and therefore not starting or being accessible.
You can switch off DHCP directly on the device itself – without software.
This is how you proceed:
→ Now the weQube+ is working with a static IP address and the startup process should run correctly again.
Alternatively, DHCP can also be deactivated using the “BootP-DHCP Server” software tool.
This is how you proceed:
The procedure described here applies to the weQube+ models B50S, B50R, B50M and C50C.
If the weQube+ only displays the logo at startup, DHCP is usually activated and no IP address has been assigned. By deactivating DHCP – either directly via the button on the device or with the BootP-DHCP Server Tool – the sensor is assigned a static IP address again and starts as usual.
