SPS 2025: A week full of preparations – our trade fair stand is taking shape

SPS 2025 in Nuremberg is just around the corner – and while the exhibition halls still seem quiet, wenglor has already been in full swing for days. A whole week was spent lifting, driving, screwing and assembling in order to prepare this year’s trade fair stand in time for the opening on November 25. What often looks inconspicuous from the outside is actually an impressive interplay of logistics, craftsmanship and teamwork.

Delivery and logistics: tons of technology on the road

Efficient handling of trade fair components

The first trucks rolled into the yard at our site in Tettnang at the beginning of the week. Pallets of trade fair panels, machine components, exhibits and technical equipment were delivered, packed in large wooden crates and protected by film and transport racks. Forklifts and lifting equipment were then used to distribute the goods: whether robust sensors, the Smart Camera B60, Machine Vision controllers or the exhibits for the new P1PY21 ToF sensor series with blue laser light – many of the highlights from our portfolio were already well secured on their way to Nuremberg before the start of the trade fair.

Setting up the trade fair stand: structure, cables, lighting – everything has to be right

At the same time, construction work was underway in the exhibition hall itself. The basic structure of our stand was assembled from elements, some of which were several meters high. Bright exhibition panels, beams and frames were assembled piece by piece and then fitted with lighting systems, ceiling elements and banners.

The set-up is precision work: cable routes have to be planned, device connections prepared and illumination precisely aligned. The integration of the digital exhibits is particularly important here – because our AI and vision solutions from uniVision 3, AI Lab and weHub should not only work later, but also be intuitive to experience.

The pictures clearly show how much coordination is required here: scaffolding is erected, panels are screwed together, technology is tested. The trade fair team and the service providers work hand in hand – always with a view to ensuring that everything is perfectly in place before the opening.

Our Highlights for the SPS 2025

While boxes are still being moved outside, we’ve already decided what we’ll be presenting in Nuremberg this year:

  • World first: P1PY21 time-of-flight sensor with blue laser light
Stable measurement on dark, shiny or (semi-)transparent materials – a real innovative leap thanks to the shorter wavelength.
  • AI development in the AI Lab
The new platform for efficient data management, model training and cloud processing enables an end-to-end workflow from data acquisition to AI inference.
  • Cloud integration through weHub
The connection between AI Lab and uniVision 3 creates end-to-end communication and fast AI model updates.
  • New products from the sensor and vision sector
These include contrast sensors, ToF reflex sensors, new triangulation sensors from the P1PC series and proven classics such as our inductive ring sensors and the B60 Smart Cameras.

Shortly before the start of the trade fair: fine-tuning and system tests

At the end of the set-up week, the detailed work begins: displays are set up, software modules are loaded, sensors are put into operation and final visual adjustments are made to the stand. The still empty hall fills with life – and our stand grows step by step into a real trade fair highlight.

What still looks like a construction site will become a modern, sophisticated presentation space for innovations in sensor technology, Machine Vision and AI from November 25.

Conclusion: A major project is ready for launch

Preparing for SPS is a major logistical and technical project every year. But the effort is worth it: when the gates of the trade fair open next week and visitors can experience the latest automation solutions, it is clear that every single step – from unloading the first crate to switching on the last exhibit – has been worth it.

If you would like to experience us live, you will find us in Hall 4A, Stand 151. The team is looking forward to exciting discussions, new contacts and a joint look into the future of automation technology.
